Fashion Day Deal

Industry: Fashion Retail
Solution: Magento Development

The Project

Our client 'Fashion Day Deal' based in Netherlands is a leading fashion retail store offering women apparels and accessories. They wanted us to build (design & develop) an online Ecommerce store so as to create an online presence and expand their business.

The Challenge

  • The key challenge was to work with a 3rd party daily deal extension and then extracting those data, besides generating XML for the daily deal and product data.
  • Customization to hide products for non-logged (in) users.
  • Generate Module that allows admin to manage website background and integrate on website.
  • Client wanted to implement Auction on the products for users to place bid on products and highest bidder wins auction and can purchase the product

Approach

  • To set up website with theming that matches with client expectations.
  • Customization of the website to hide products from non-logged in user and redirect to login page.
  • Installed and Configure Daily Deal module that was supplied by client - on the Home Page.
  • For XML generation, we created a cron job (scheduled task) which generates XML file every 24 hours for 3rd parties to consume.
  • Mailchimp was integrated within website to send newsletter subscription directly to mailchimp when users sign up from front end.
  • For Blogging, we used Aheadworks blogging engine and themed it as per the website design to show blog.

Solution

  • 'Daily deal' feature integration that will offer deals on each day.
  • Customization for hiding specific products for guest users and only accessible to logged in user
  • Allows website background modification from admin side within sidebars.
  • Generates XML feed for products within database for 3rd parties to consume
  • Website features and shows Facebook feed for each product on the website and allow users to add their comments on products.
  • 3rd party mailing solution (Mailchimp) integration for sending out email newsletters.
  • Blog integration on the website which can be managed from the admin area.
  • For Auction, we used 3rd party module and configured this module within website to work along with other installed modules, and also fixed possible bugs.
