Google is all set to start new ventures in the online market with their introduction of new features in all the possible areas of search. One of the latest introductions of services made by them is for the Apple’s iPhone 3G. The owners of this hi-tech phone can go to Google’s home page and receive a new message saying “New! Try my location…” this is a very powerful tool introduced by Google. It will enable the users of the iPhone to surf their location and also to know the locations of the nearby restaurants, shops, and bars.

However, for this you need to go to the safari section on your iPhone and click on the My location link button. This will result into popping up of a new window with the question about asking you to allow it to use your Safari device location services. Once you accept it you will find that a blue dot will appear on the screen right below the search box and beside it would be your location. Now when you perform the search you will find the local results on your phone itself.

This is a commendable feature for the iPhone users and it can be operated without a native application. It is a revolutionary feature that can effectively utilize Google Latitude and Google’s Location based social network. Another striking point is that all this is possible through mobile Safari which can also be run in the background, though it is not for sure if Google location would work if Safari is working in the background. Nevertheless, it is still a great feature for an iPhone.

Google also promises their customers of top most privacy with this feature and one can always disable the functionality when and where required.
